Kid's Broken Airsoft Gun Prompts School Lockdown In Union

Livingston School in Union was briefly in lockdown Monday after police received a report of a student with a gun, the department said in a statement.

The 9-year-old brought the Airsoft-style gun to show his friends, police said. The gun was "inoperable," police also said.

Officers responded and determined there was no threat. Classes resumed at the school shortly after.

School officials planned to speak to the student and the student's family, police also said.
